Poly Bla Bla is a language app where English, Spanish, French and Haitian Creole all connect, so you can start from any one and learn any other, built around the words people use at work.

The Story

Haiti and the Dominican Republic share one island, and Poly Bla Bla started in a home that shares both sides of it. Jefferson Daniel was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, and grew up speaking Haitian Creole. Quinti Daniel was born and raised in Constanza, Dominican Republic, speaking Spanish. Now married and based in Miami, the couple built a language app together where no language is treated as the starting point.

Most language apps treat Haitian Creole as a place you arrive from English. In Poly Bla Bla, Kreyòl works in every direction. A Kreyòl speaker can learn English, Spanish or French starting from their own language, a Spanish speaker can learn Kreyòl, and anyone can learn more than one language at once. That is four languages connected 12 ways in one app.

The app is built for people who need the right words for their next shift, not a semester long course: flight crews, nurses, first responders, drivers and anyone who serves the public in more than one language. Instead of a fixed curriculum, Poly Bla Bla teaches the words your job actually uses.

The Founders

Co-founders Jefferson and Quinti Daniel, Miami, Florida.

Jefferson and Quinti Daniel are a husband and wife team based in Miami. Together they co-founded Atomic Web App and Services Inc., where they build business systems and the technology behind them for entrepreneurs, and together they built Poly Bla Bla. They started the app after seeing how often people at work need a few key words in another language, and how rarely language apps let Haitian Creole speakers start from their own language.

Jefferson Daniel was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, and lived there until he was 15. Haitian Creole is his first language.

Quinti Daniel, who goes by the nickname Vicky, was born and raised in Constanza, Dominican Republic, and grew up speaking Spanish.
